SKYFLOOR BS – COMBINES FIRE-RESISTANT GLAZING AND GLASS FLOOR

Whether in public buildings or for glazing private areas. The Taghell fire-resistant glazing makes it possible to have see-through areas on surfaces in a variety of fire-resistance classes. Stairwells, garages or areas within public buildings are opened up using the specially developed walk-on fire-resistant glazing.

SKYFLOOR BS – the walk-on fire resistant glazing from Taghell impresses with its clear form language and provides a complete ready-to-install modular glass skylight in the fire resistance class F30 or F90. This is available for insulated premises or as uninsulated fire-resistant glazing.

The well-proven integrated system requires, depending on the country, approval in each individual case, which is given at the written request of the client or their representative.

FIRE-RESISTANCE

With regard to their fire behaviour, building materials are divided into the following groups: Building materials that burn themselves, building materials that do not allow fire gases to pass through but do not prevent the heat radiation from igniting objects behind them, and building materials that also retain the heat radiation for a certain period of time. The fire resistance duration is specified in minutes (steps: 15, 30, 60, 120 to 360 minutes); the building material is divided into different fire resistance classes accordingly.
Room-sealing and thermally insulating glazing has the property of resisting the stress of a fire attacking only one side in such a way that fire and smoke gas penetration is prevented and that no significant transfer of heat takes place. High-quality fire-resistant glass that does not heat up by more than 140 K on average on the side facing away from the fire belongs to classes F 30 – F 120 (DIN 13501: EI 30 – EI 120) according to DIN 4102.

CONSENT IN A PARTICULAR CASE
The installation of a walk-on skyfloor requires approval on a case-by-case basis. This is issued by the supreme building supervisory authority of the responsible federal state upon written application by the builder or his representative and is limited to the respective building project.

FORM

The size of the SKYFLOOR BS is variable and is based on various parameters of the planned construction project. Whether for new buildings or for fitting into existing buildings – the walk-on fire resistant glazing from Taghell can be manufactured according to the required dimensions within the range of minimum to maximum sizes listed.

THE SQUARE

In the form of strips of light in different shapes and sizes the rectangular skylights or glass floors from Taghell create accented large surfaces. In living spaces which are only partially illuminated by natural light, the scope of architectural design possibilities and light sources are expanded. Depending on the time of day and the weather conditions, you will experience a range of lighting effects, all framed by the clear-cut lines of the square. THE CIRCLE

Like spotlights with variable diameters, the Circle fits organically into its surroundings. Modern room designs are complemented by creative guidance of the daylight coming in, refining your space with shafts of light that shift throughout the day. Whether used as a single spotlight or in multiples to flood your space, the barrier-free Circle skylight offers smooth lines to create a contemplative mood.

THE RECTANGLE

In the form of delicate bands of light, in different shapes and sizes, rectangular skylights from Taghell accent the whole room, creating a feeling of expansiveness. Placed next to each other or installed as one individual highlight of a room design, they create a natural and open atmosphere. By means of the flush installation, barrier free skylights in terraces, roof gardens, lawns or staircases are created.

THE INDIVIDUAL

Our custom made solutions for walk-on floor glazing fulfill practically any wish with regard to shape, size and load-bearing capacity. There are no more limits when it comes to choice of materials and colours than there are to designing the shape or individual arrangement of panes in your skylight; even how it connects to your facade. We work closely with you to create the perfect skylight for your situation.
